Physiotherapy in Surrey

We offer a variety of physiotherapy treatments in Surrey, including:

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy

In laser therapy, light is used to penetrate through the skin into the tissues. We use the Bioflex® laser for our laser treatment. The Bioflex® laser is a high class sophisticated modern class 3, B-type laser. It has been shown to aid in pain relief, reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, stimulate wound healing, stimulate tissue regeneration, and reduce scarring. This type of therapy is completely safe, with no adverse side effects and does not damage any neurons. This therapy is non-invasive, non-toxic and non-thermal.

At Optimal Recovery Physiotherapy, we effectively use laser therapy for treatment of a multitude of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is one of the best known deep tissue massage therapy techniques. This therapeutic approach involves warming and placing of cups (usually made out of glass or silicone) on the skin, creating a vacuum that draws tissue up into the cup.

This increases the blood flow to a particular muscle region to loosen the fascia or connective tissue, increase endurance of healing, decrease tissue adhesion, remove swelling and reduce pain and inflammation.

Custom-Made Orthotics

Custom-Made Orthotics

We use The Orthotic Group GaitScan™ to assess and make custom orthotics. The TOG gait scan is an innovative diagnostic tool and digital casting device that allows us to analyze a patient’s biomechanics and order proper custom orthotic products.

Acupuncture, Dry Needling, and Intramuscular Stimulation

Acupuncture, Dry Needling, and Intramuscular Stimulation

Acupuncture is the penetration of very fine stainless steel needles into acupoints to stimulate various parts of the body. It is most effective in treating acute and chronic pain, such as headaches, lower back, neck, and muscle pain.

Intramuscular stimulation is effective for treating chronic pain of neuropathic origin. The technique uses needles very similar to the needles used in acupuncture to find and diagnose muscle shortening in deep muscles.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio tape is used for treating athletic injuries and a variety of physical disorders. It gives support and stability to joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for preventative maintenance, edema, and to treat pain.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

With manual therapy, the physiotherapist uses their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and to manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and joint dysfunction.
